Founded in 1867, Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) is a historic, private HBCU in Raleigh, North Carolina, uniquely distinguished as one of only two universities in the nation affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The university is highly regarded for its robust programs in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Biology, as well as a dynamic communications department that features the nation's first student-owned and operated commercial radio and television station at an HBCU. On campus, prospective students will find a close-knit, family-like atmosphere bolstered by vibrant Divine Nine Greek life, the energetic "Superior Sound" marching band, and a legendary Division II athletic program famous for its championship-winning track and field legacy.

Founded in 1867 by Episcopal Church clergy to educate formerly enslaved Black people, Saint Augustine's has traditionally focused its mission around first-generation college students and students "who otherwise wouldn't get the opportunity" to receive a college education. Over its history, it progressively evolved from a normal school to a junior college to a four-year liberal arts institution.
