About

Located in the scenic Appalachian mountains of Pippa Passes, Kentucky, Alice Lloyd College is best known for its tuition-guarantee program, which ensures that qualified students from the surrounding 108-county region pay zero out-of-pocket tuition in exchange for participating in a mandatory campus work-study program. Academically, the college offers a robust liberal arts education with highly regarded majors in business, teacher education, and exceptionally strong pre-professional tracks in medicine and law that boast high graduate school acceptance rates. The campus culture is tight-knit, dry, and deeply rooted in leadership, character development, and community service, further distinguished by the unique Caney Cottage program, which provides free housing to ALC alumni pursuing advanced degrees at selected Kentucky universities.
