Located in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) is a unique junior college best known for its vibrant intercultural environment and its premier Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts program, which features specialized concentrations in Peace Studies and East Asian Studies. The campus culture is defined by a tight-knit, diverse community where American and international students—primarily from East Asia—live and learn together, fostering global citizenship through collaborative activities and language exchange. Distinctively, HTIC is the only American campus of Japan’s prestigious Tokai University Educational System and is adjacent to the University of Hawaiʻi - West Oʻahu, offering students shared campus resources and a seamless transfer pathway to a four-year degree.

It was established in Honolulu on May 22, 1992, in the Mo‘ili‘ili community neighboring Waikiki. Initially called "Tokai International College," its first academic term began on October 8, 1992. In April 2015, HTIC relocated to its new campus in Kapolei, adjacent to the University of Hawaiʻi at West Oʻahu campus. The only American campus of the Tokai University Educational System (TES) of Japan, HTIC reflects the combined educational philosophies of Tokai founder Shigeyoshi Matsumae and former University of Hawaiʻi Vice President for Community Colleges Richard Kosaki.
