Founded by Booker T. Washington, Tuskegee University is a historically Black institution (HBCU) renowned for its rich legacy of academic innovation and leadership. It is particularly famed for its powerhouse STEM fields, housing a world-class College of Veterinary Medicine that educates over 75% of the nation's Black veterinarians, alongside the only ABET-accredited aerospace engineering program at an HBCU. The student experience is defined by a close-knit, tradition-rich culture centered on Black excellence, heritage, and community empowerment. Uniquely, Tuskegee holds the distinction of being the only university campus in the United States designated as a National Historic Site by the U.S. National Park Service.
